Fascia board and roof edge trim: the wood you forget

The fascia board is the vertical board at the eaves, usually behind or below the gutter. It is the first timber to suffer when a gutter has leaked, which is why it often comes along with a gutter replacement.

How often should you have your roof checked?

Have an ordinary roof checked once a year, in late autumn. With lots of trees, a flat roof with many details or a roof older than thirty years, twice a year is wise. Also always check after a storm and after a long spell of rain.
